Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Eternal After Life("we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by the team behind Eternal After Life. For privacy requests, contact support@eternal-afterlife.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed). If you use Google sign-in, we receive profile information Google shares with us (such as email and name) according to your Google account settings.
  • Legacy and vault content: Titles, messages, layout preferences, media URLs you provide, optional handwritten text, and similar content you choose to store.
  • Voice recordings (occasion letters): If you upload an audio file so a letter is read in your own voice, we store that file as personal data to play it back as you direct (for example to recipients you authorize). Do not upload recordings of others without their permission where required by law.
  • Loved ones / recipients: Names and email addresses you assign so the Service can route releases and notifications as you configure.
  • Usage and heartbeat data: Timestamps and technical data related to check-ins, session authentication, and service operation.
  • Support and reports: Information you submit through problem reports or support channels.
  • Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, and similar data collected automatically by hosting providers (e.g., Vercel) and standard web logs for security and reliability.

3. How we use information

  • To create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
  • To provide vault, heartbeat, occasion envelope, and related features.
  • To send operational notifications (for example, via Telegram to configured operators) about sign-ups or issues you report.
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
  • To improve reliability and fix bugs.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

If you are in the European Economic Area or similar jurisdictions, we process personal data on bases such as: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (operating and securing the Service), and consent where required.

5. Sharing of information

  • Infrastructure providers: We use third-party hosts and databases (including Vercel and, in production, typically Turso) that process data on our behalf under their terms and security practices. Some media, including optional private voice recordings for occasion letters, may be stored in Vercel Blob (object storage) and are only served through our application after authentication.
  • Authentication providers:Google OAuth is subject to Google's privacy policy when you choose that sign-in method.
  • Google Drive (optional):If you connect Google Drive, we request permission to access files you explicitly select (import) and to create folders and files when you export. We do not scan or index your entire Drive. Processing is subject to Google's terms and policies.
  • Recipients you designate: When you trigger or when automated rules release content, information you chose to share may be delivered to those recipients (for example, via secure links).
  • Legal: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal information as a product.

6. Retention

We keep information as long as needed to run the Service and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion as described in our Security & Trust page and below.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact support@eternal-afterlife.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred across borders.
